From crafting artefacts to journeying through the afterlife, our Year 7 students brought Ancient Egypt to life this term!
Over the past 5 weeks, students in Year 7 have put a magnificent amount of work and effort into learning the many wondrous and significant findings and information about Ancient Egypt.
Students learned about the hierarchy system of ancient Egyptians and how they functioned on a daily basis. We learned about what life was like for people in that group and wrote detailed and structured paragraphs about each one’s duties. Through this task we learned how to differentiate and find similarities of each rank.
After this, we learned about the many different gods and goddesses they had and created presentations about their roles and importance in Egyptian beliefs. We learned about the role they played when someone would die, the purification process and how someone can ascend into the afterlife through Anubis.
To conclude our fun and interesting journey of Ancient Egypt, we created artefacts from that era to present at a museum display. Students used materials such as clay, paint, cardboard, minecraft and other materials to create stunning artefacts. To truly make it look like an artefact in a museum, we even made detailed plaques to go along with it. Throughout this journey, we learned to be curious, creative and we grew as learners.
