We are very excited to have our very first Peace Pole. Peace Poles are found all over the world and symbolise our common wish for a world at peace. They stand as a silent vigil, reminding us to think and act in the spirit of peace.
The West Torrens Rotary club has sponsored Underdale to have our first pole and joined us in a ceremony on Monday the 22nd September. A group of dedicated students ran the ceremony sharing the message ‘may peace prevail on earth’ in English, Kaurna, Greek and Japanese.
We look forward to hosting a ceremony each year, as we continue to celebrate International day of peace.
