Each year, schools in Australia are required to participate in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) testing, which assesses students’ literacy and numeracy skills in years 3, 5, 7, and 9. NAPLAN testing aims to provide valuable information to students, parents, carers, and teachers about each student’s strengths and areas of improvement. It also allows parents, carers, and teachers to see how students are progressing in literacy and numeracy over time.
